Hoyt St pneumatic tires and tubes with locally sourced 6061 aluminum rims sporting 48T (5") and 56T (7") wheel pulley. 5" pneumatics are retro-compatible with Hoyt St EL1 and EL2 electric skateboard.
The creation of these 5" pneumatics has been a 4 year odyssey. Making a 5" tire is easy, making one rated for speed is a completely different challenge. First you need to find a quality vendor, next you need to double back to find a quality vendor open to the challenge and risk of creating the smallest tire on the market rated for speed. Finally you need the patience and commitment to withstand all the hurdles and delays you invariably encounter creating something new; like the realization that the speed rating and testing machinery doesn't have fixtures small enough for 5" tires. Speed rating for the 5" tire is 28mph/45kph and 31mph/50kph for the 7". Tires are speed rated by successfully running a single tire for 40 hours over ~2000km (~1240 miles) at speed with a 50kg (110lbs) load.
